Sooo it's been about a year and a half since I updated this thing at all. Does anyone even look at this thing anymore?

Anyway, just some little tidbits on what's been going on. I went to Australia for a year as part of my college major (Marine Biology), and now I'm finally in the process of graduating. My school hasn't really been keeping me in the loop on what's going on, though, so I guess I'll figure out I've graduated if a diploma happens to show up in the mail one day XD. Now I'm trying to apply for jobs and internships at various aquariums around the U.S., and currently have my eye set on some internships available at the Shedd in Chicago. Hopefully it all goes well, otherwise I'll be stuck at a front desk job forever :,D

In regards to anime related stuff, I attended Anime Iowa the weekend before last, which was exciting because 1. it's my first U.S. convention in over a year, and 2. I actually submitted some of my stuff into competitions. Two AMV's, my Sesshoumaru cosplay in the Masquerade, and my Irisviel von Einzbern cosplay for the Hall cosplay contest. In the end, I won Best in Comedy for a parody Higurashi AMV, and Best in Workmanship for the Intermediate class at the Masquerade. Yay! Unfortunately, my Sesshoumaru costume kinda fell apart in places (thankfully it stayed together while I was on stage!), so I'll have to fix a few things up before my next convention. Right now I'm eying Daishocon in Wisconsin, which takes place the weekend before my birthday and is at the Kalahari in the Wisconsin Dells. Even if it is a small con, it should make for a lovely birthday present

Now for the DA side of things. I've still been drawing, but it's been limited to various sketches of OC's, and I haven't felt like coloring anything in a while. So unless inspiration suddenly hits me, I'll probably stick with uploading various cosplay photos for the time being.

I think I'll stop myself now. This has been going on for too long already

Ugh. I'm sure I've said this before, but I absolutely cannot stand people who trace. I understand that some people think it's a good way to help you learn, but honestly, most people just use it as a 'get popular fast without using any effort' crutch.

But even more than that, I hate people who trace and don't even admit that you're doing it. Sure, use some obscure images and you might be able to get by unnoticed for a while, but sooner or later you will slip up and show yourself for the lazy hack that you are. Just do everyone a favor and just use those images as references. Sure your work will look like crap for a while, but at least you might actually get better without having to steal other people's hard work.

/end rant. for now.

In other news, I wanna take a little poll. Some of you (some = around three) know that I'm making a visual novel based off of a story my friend and I have been writing. It takes both original and canon characters and sticks them into an alternate, modern-day universe. This is what the character sheet for Ryoko Asakura is for.

My question IS...what character would you like to see a character set for next? I'll leave up a list for the main and secondary characters that appear for both male and female, so leave a comment on which one from both lists you want to see next. Just a fair warning, though, most canon characters will not be appearing in their canon outfits.

Well, it's official. My graphic tablet is now dead. I went to pick the sucker up and the light just went out, and no matter what way I move the cable I just can't get it to turn back on. This means that I won't be able to submit anything that's finished until I get a new one, which...could be a while.

It's a shame, really. I was almost finished with the first character set, too...

Now that I'm finished with tests for the next....week, I'm feeling bored enough mess around with my journal a bit.



I'm only looking to do collabs with close friends at the moment, but am willing to do commissions for anyone who's interested. I am able to do sketches and digital chibis/characters, as well as character reference sheets, for relatively cheap.
